What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After A Gallbladder Surgery?

had a gallbladder surgery and started bleeding vaginally four days later. It is just spotting. I am worried because I had a full hysterectomy about five months ago and I am worried this might be a trigger from both surgeries. Both surgeries were done laparoscopic and some of the new incisions are using the same sites from the hysterectomy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to the stress of the surgery or due to certain medications. It could also be due to manipulation of the same internal area (as for the hysterectomy) during surgery. Urethral bleed/injury (due to catheterization) also needs to be checked out.

If you have no abdominal pain, or fever, then it is most likely nothing serious. It is better to get it checked.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
