What Causes Urinary Incontinence In A Diabetic Person?

My husband is only 35 but he is a diabetic. Recently he is complaining that after he feels like he has finished urinating, a few minutes later urine will drip out. It is an amount that is noticeable. I keep telling him he needs to see a urologist he doesn t seem to think so.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. It is due to urethral stricture or calculi in urethra. Consult urologist for examination and proper diagnosis. Urine examination may be done. Considering your age it appears you are having juvenile diabetes and you are insulin dependent. Consult diabetologist for examination and proper management of diabetes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
