What Causes Urge To Urinate Along With Chills?

Good afternoon! I am wondering....2 evenings ago I suddenly had a strange sensation that made me feel like I had to go to the washroom (pee). When I did, it didn t burn per say, but there was a super strong strange sensation that went through my entire body, even giving me chills. It was NOT a nice feeling! Within a few minutes the feeling came back and I had to run to the washroom again. Very little urine, but same strong pain . Every evening for the past 2 days, this has happened and I m now feeling it again. When the feeling to pee comes it can feel like pressure and I HAVE TO get to the washroom. Again, it s not a burning feeling, it s more of a pressure feeling. Yet at other times during the day, all is normal. Could this be an infection? I feel fine, so far? Stones in the bladder? I have had kidney stones before and every now and then mild kidney stone pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, yes possibility of urinary tract infections should be ruled out.

You need to have urinalysis as well as ultrasound KUB, and rule out any associated renal colic or any floating shadows in the bladder. Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or antispasmodic like drotaverine can be helpful.

Using oral citrosoda sachet can be helpful to reduce the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
