What Causes Under Active Thyroid Symptoms Despite A Normal Thyroid Report?

I am a 35 year old female - 5f8in and 10.5stone. I have been showing all of the symptoms of an underactive thyroid however my bloods always come back ok. I do however have a goitre and ehlers dances which I have been researching can also cause thyroid issues. I am also producing excess saliva at the moment. This had happened in the past but has now started reoccurring again. Do you have any thoughts!? Thanks - Becky

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you should also get reviewed for autoimmune disorders and get a rheumatologist review as well as baseline autoimmune work up. Other endocrine issues like diabetes and adrenal issues may also need to be worked up.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
