What Causes Uncontrollable Body Shakes Upon Ceasing Alcohol Consumption?

My husband likes to have a drink of beer especially since he retired he would have about 24 beers in 5 days. He recently stopped and that s when anxiety set in he always have had abit,but it got worse,he now is on tables but he has serve bouts of uncontrollable body shakes and funny sounds come out of his mouth and cannot walk probably they last for 5 or more hours. Is this from the alcohol withdrawal.

should not drink so much beer. it contain glycerol. so try to persuade him to leave this habit. consult deadiction clinic for advise to leave it. may need counseling.
