What Causes Troubled Sleep?

I have recently had a lot of trouble sleeping, just in the past week. I have made diet and exercise changes and have heard that helps with sleep (although I did that before sleep problems started). I usually sleep great, don t wake up all night, and can wake up early with no problem. Lately I have been talking 1-3 hours to fall asleep, and have had a couple nights where I have slept 11 or 12 hours and not woke up until 1:00pm. Then that night I am super tired at around 8:00. I just can t wake up in the morning. I am married and work from home, but like to keep busy and am always doing things around the house, cleaning, cooking, etc. I hardly ever just sit around and watch tv. I drink coffee but very little, less than 1 cup throughout the day (not all at once). I just don t know what caused a change and it really bothers me to be tired all the time and the frustrating when I can t fall asleep!

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. Tiredness has two aspects. Mental fatigue and physical fatigue. Physical fatigue along with pleasant mind triggers sleep which can be termed sound. Mental fatigue is actually stress. Even though you have physical fatigue, combined with mental fatigue, sleep shall be disturbing, never sound.

Check your stress level. Working throughout the day, doing so many things, is good for health. But, stress is stress. Don't compel you to do so. Please allot time for entertainment. Games, songs, movies, spending time with children etc. Keep your mind stress free when you go to sleep. Meditation helps at this.

If still problem persists, Please post a direct question to me in this website. Make sure that you include every minute details possible. I shall prescribe some psychotherapy techniques which should help you cure your condition further.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
