What Causes Tremors In The Hand And Hoarseness In The Voice?

I have been having hand/finger tremors. My throat has been hoarse, scratchy and breaking voice. All for about three months now. I was taking synthroid 150 mcg but was having side effects from that so stopped it about 2 months or so ago. My hand tremors are worse when i have to hold something like a pencil. I didn t know if stopping the synthroid could be a cause of the tremors and throat problems. I didn t take it daily prior to stopping it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Low thyroid function may cause a horse voice but the hand tremors should not be related to it. Stopping Synthroid should not cause hand tremors.

You will need a visit with your doctor and a thorough physical examination, including a neurological exam, to make sure you do not have a neurological disease causing both the horse voice and the hand tremors.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
