What Causes Tonsillitis?

Hi I have a 6yr old son how can t go a month without having bad tonsilits the last time he had it they wanted to put him in hospital but they sent us home a trout spray which did help a couple of weeks now have gone by and he s got it again.can u tell me what else I can do and what age do they remove tonsillis out? Thank u

In fact 6 years is the best age to get the tonsils removed as the recovery is the fastest in this age group between 5 to 8 with least complications.

Since your son is getting repeated tonsillitis, it is better to get a thorough ENT examination. This can find the focus of infection like a caries tooth or enlarged adenoids and a three-week course of antibiotics and treatment of the root-cause can cure him of the tonsillitis problem without removal.
