What Causes Tiredness And Blood In Stool?

Hi there, My boy friend visited Australia in Feburary and ever since he has come back he has been extremely tired and irritable. He is fairly hot when he sleeps, and is also very restless when he is sleeping. He has also been passing blood in his stool since he cane back. Could this be some kind of insect that has bitten him when he was over there or some kind of Australian Virus?
