What Causes Tingling Sensation In Between The Knee And Ankle?

My knee pops and locks up some days and feels like it could give out on others. This started after I had a rollover accident with a go cart, Now I have tingling sensation on the outside of my leg from my knee down to my ankle. Does this sound like a meniscus tear and how bad is it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Injury of meniscus in the knee joint can be suggested by certain tests an orthopedic surgeon performs while examination of the knee, it can be confirmed by MRI of the part.

The tingling sensation you have is sign of pressure on fibular nerve at outer part of the knee, which supplies the parts affected.

The treatment would consist of medicines, physiotherapy under expert guidance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
