What Causes Tingling Sensation And Swelling In The Upper Legs?

I had surgery for acute dvt. After 6 weeks wearing a compression stocking (knee high) and taking 20 mg once a day of Xeralto, I am having tingling, severe swelling of the upper leg and thigh, heaviness and hardness in the limb. My surgeon says back to work in 2 more weeks and I cannot convince her I will be unable to do my job. Advice? mar

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The compression stocking may have caused temporary nerve damage to the nerves in the legs. It should be temporary because the nerves were not severed/cut. It may take longer than the 2 weeks of leave to heal however so your doctor may need to extend your time off.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
