Hello,

Since you have a family history of neurological problems & now you are experiencing muscle stiffness in various parts of the body you are suggested to visit a neurologist & get clinically assessed to detect any developing peripheral neuropathy.

You will have to get Nerve Biopsy, Nerve conduction tests & X-Ray, CT & MRI done. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. The factors that may cause muscle stiffness are amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenertive disease, fibromyalgia, muscle strain, myofascial pain syndrome. In the meantime take food rich in Vitamin B6, B12, folic acid & minerals. You can take vitamin B supplements also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
