What Causes Tight Sensation Under The Tongue And Jaw?

Hi guys! So the past week i have been having muscle tightness under my tongue and in one side of my jaw. Also a little tingling in my tongue. The other side of my jaw has always popped for the last 6 years but i never thought anything of it. I was thinking maybe i have tmj and the symptoms are just getting worse? Not sure but it s really bothering me. Please help! Thank u ❤ Tiffani Aldubai

Hi Tiffani..
Thanks for the query.

Your symptoms can be due to pulled muscle or it can be due to Sialoadenosis or infection in the submandibular salivary gland..
But in case if you have any other symptoms like chest discomfort, sweating or dizziness then can be related to cardiac or Neuro problems..
So for confirmation consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination and investigation like x Ray can help..
If it is due to infected gland then antibiotics can be advised..
A combination of anti inflammatory painkillers and muscle relaxant can also be taken to reduce tensed feeling and relax the muscles..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
