What Causes Thumping Feeling In Chest While On Medication For Anxiety?
I have these "thumps" in my chest and can feel it in my stomach and throat sometimes. It's like my heart stops or skips a beat. I do have anxiety issues and am taking buspirone and citolapram. Some days I don't even have the thumps and other days I do, a lot or maybe 3 or 4 times a day.
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. You have anxiety and are taking Buspirone and Citalopram for treatment. Even with medicines the symptoms like thumping feeling in chest are persisting. In such case I'd advise you to consult your psychiatrist again for reevaluation. Medicines like Benzodiazepines as Clonazepam or Lorazepam can be used for symptomatic control. These medicines can be used on SOS basis.
Apart from this I'd also advise you for relaxation exercise to remain relaxed and this would help to reduce the anxiety. Please consult your doctor for reevaluation.
Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
