What causes throbbing pain in right front neck when pressing carotid artery, turning head, swallowing?

Yesterday I woke with what I thought was a sore throat, but soon after realized it was actually a throbbing pain in my right front neck. It hurts more when I press on my carotid artery, turn my head, and swallow, and the pain goes up into my jaw. Thoughts?

Hello,

Such pain can be caused by enlarged node,thyroid cysts/nodules or carotid body tumors.A clinical evaluation and ultrasound is recommended in cases like yours.Please provide more details and ask for detailed answer in premium category.
