What Causes Thickened Toe Nail With Changing Colors?

My PCP describe my condition as Toenail Dystropy and prescribe the antifungus medicine Terbinafine HCL for 3 months. My right big toe nail has elevated a little from the nail bed and is very thick. There is also white stuff on the left side on the toe area. the toe nail is sort of changing colors. I have been on this medication for two months. Should I finish the meds before going to see the podiatric?

The best way to manage Onychomycosis, that is toe nail fungal infection is by using anti fungal nail lacquer. There are many, but mostly used are Cycloperox or Amrolfine nail lacquer. With the file which comes with the pack, the excessive fungus is filed away each time, and the nail lacquer applied on all toe nails three times a week, for 52 weeks. Avoid excessive wetness to the toe nails, keep them dry and clean.
