What Causes Thick White Discharge And Difficulty Retracting Foreskin?

I think I have balanitis but I m not sure. If I do it s not severe, i won t have time to see a doc before I go out of town so I m wondering would I should do in the mean time.Symptoms include some thick white creamy substance under the foreskin, difficulty retracting foreskin, pain and redness on foreskin, irritated foreskin when urinating, and some white blotches on the head of my penis.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Balanitis can be caused by a combined bacterial and fungal infection. So if you are my patient I would recommend using ointments like Panderm Plus containing antifungal agent terbinafine, antibacterial ofloxacin & ornidazole, and corticosteroid clobetasol. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genital area and instead, you can use saline or warm water. Avoid sexual intercourse until it heals. There is the possibility of spreading the infection to your partner if you do.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
