What Causes Thick Mucus Drainage Along With Blood On Blowing The Nose?

For the last two days I ve felt a little stuffy then started to have sinus drainage with swollen glads. I just blew my nose really hard and a huge chunk of what looks like tissue covered with mucus and a little blood came out. It feels pretty solid like I just blew out a piece of an organ or something. What is that and should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to sinusitis. Examination with an ENT specialist will be helpful to rule out the condition. X ray of para nasal sinus will be helpful to confirm it. Nasal decongestants and antibiotics will be helpful for this. If there is no improvement then puncture and drainage of sinus will help. A consultation with an ENT specialist is well appreciated.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
