What Causes The Sudden Swelling In The Face, Neck And Ears?

The right side of my husbands face has suddenly swollen from the top of his cheek, extending to his ear and down his neck. He says he felt of discomfort while he was eating supper but we didn t notice any swelling till now. Should I take him to Emergency now?

The pain, and swelling could be because of the gum infection or tooth infection leading to pus formation and spreading to involve sodt tissues(space infection). Consult a oral physician and get a radiograph done to rule the infection.
Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole (if you are not allergic).
