What Causes The Infant To Be Skinny Inspite Of Proper Diet?

My baby is extremely strong at 6 months old. He started holding his head up by 1 month for long periods of time, rolling over at 2 1/2 months and crawling at 5 months. Now at six months he is starting to stand up while holding onto the furniture. He s always been advanced physically. But at the same time he s always had very low body fat. He drinks about 30-34oz of formula a day plus three jars of stage 2 baby food. How come he is so skinny but so strong?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

Sometimes, being skinny and strong is a sign of very good health and probably his genetic makeup is like that and you did not worry about this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sumanth Amperayani, Pediatrician, Pulmonology
