What Causes The MRI To Show Abnormal Marks On The Brain?

I've been having a variety of neurological symptoms for about 4 years now. At the onset of symptoms I had an MRI/MRA and the doctors noticed some abnormal "marks" on my brain. (There were 3 things the ER doctor wanted checked, but the neuro dept ignored) They also did an EEG which showed abnormal activity but was not seizure-like. They put me on meds for 2 months and discharged me from their service with no follow-up. (Despite my arguing that the abnormalities should be explored further.)

Two years ago I moved to a different area of the country and last year I went to a new neurologist due to my symptoms starting to interfere with everyday life. I showed him the scans from a few years prior and he agreed that something was off. After an MRI, the doctor said I was fine and that there was nothing wrong neurologically.

I feel like the doctors are just dismissing my symptoms. Even if the "marks" are benign, I want confirmation and to know why the symptoms occur. It's getting to the point I feel like a hypochondriac, but then I remember that there was something on the MRI that the docs keep dismissing.

What should I do next?
