What Causes Tenderness In Throat, Soreness While Swallowing And Swollen Lymph Nodes?
My throat is tender to the touch near the cricoid cartilage. It has been on and off for a couple weeks. There is varying levels of soreness when swallowing. Saw a doctor yesterday and was told because there is no fever or swollen lymphnodes, and a viral throat illness has been circulating. What could be causing this?

What Causes Tenderness In Throat, Soreness While Swallowing And Swollen Lymph Nodes?
Hi One of the common cause of tenderness in throat and soreness while swallowing is due to infections and generally a viral infection or common cold Common cold duration can vary from days to weeks to months It is suggested that you take sufficient rest and keep your body hygeninc Avoid items like tea, tender coconut, curds.. You can do steam inhalation with a decongestant atleast twice daily(morning and night before bed) Betadine gargling can also be done If I were your treating doctor would have advised a combination of Brufen and paracetamol tablet twice daily Wish You Good Health Regards Dr Sridhar K
