Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For years I have had an area under/below my L rib cage....more to midline than flank area.....when I bend to the left side in a specific way it feels like a sever tightening or cramp.....to make the pain go away I have to stretch back and rest for a minute or two.....today that same area is very tender and is getting somewhat more tender throughout the day.....what could this be?
Tenderness or cramp like pain in the rib cage area is due to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Drink minimum 4-5 liters of water daily. Take Glass of water with one lemon daily in the morning. Maintain enough hydration to make the pain go away.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pramod Kokare, General & Family Physician
