What Causes Tenderness In The Left Testicle?

Hi my boyfriend had a appointment today due to his left testicle having a pain if you touched it. He said the Dr said that it could be due to him straining it, a infection or possible std. I wasn t with him so I m not sure if that s true so I was wondering if anyone could help me get clarity or possibly tell what causes that. I m concerned because I m 6 months pregnant and we have been sexually active through out my pregnancy. He says he hasn t had achy sexual contact of any sort with no one else but now that the dr has told him he might have a std I m not sure if he s being truthful. So help please I figured I d get answers from a Dr that knows better then I do so I have some ease of mind. Thank you.

HI
Well come to HCM
Your concern is appreciated, if this is the testicular pain and no other symptoms are there then it may be due to trauma, of course it may be due to infection but it is always associated with other symptoms which strongly indicated the infection, like fever, headache, fatigue, in this case it may not be infection still complete clinical examination with concern test could be the option, hope this information helps.
