What Causes Tenderness And A Hard Lump In The Calf Area?

Hi, I am away working at sea currently and while I went to bed one night I felt a tenderness in the calf of my leg almost as if i hit it and it was bruised. I don t remember hitting it with anything. Upon investigation I noticed it was slightly red in the area and there is a hard lump under the skin that is tender to push on. Not really much discomfort otherwise then just something touching it.

Well it solely depends on the status of Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 levels in body. sometimes a minor injury goes unnoticed and later on comes as pain and swelling in the affected area. The calf region is one of the most affected one. Besides this, myositis can also be the case, but it is quite a rare diagnosis. A complete musculoskeletal examination is essential before commencing treatment.
