What Causes Taste In Mouth And Left Sided Headache?

Female 65 years old, having a periodic salty taste in mouth that comes and goes. Has history of acid reflux and problems with abdominal area. Has also recently had slight pain in head and left side. What may be causing the salty taste that comes and goes?

Hi

Dehydration,dryness of mouth,oral infection and any oral bleeding can all cause a salty taste in mouth.

Post-nasal drip from a sinus infection or allergies could also be to blame. The mucus from your nose can build up in the back of your throat when you’re sick. If it mixes with the saliva in your mouth, it can cause a salty taste.Associated symptoms like nasal block,headache,pain around eyes or cheeks can be present.

Maintenance of oral hygiene,mouth gargling with betadine can be useful.Adequate hydration and treatment of infections is essential.
