What Causes Symptoms Of Clogged Vein In Knee And Breathlessness?

Yesterday I noticed what I thought was a blood clot on my left leg on the right side just below the knee. Initially it looks like a clogged vein. It was sore to the touch. I elevated my leg for most of the day at work and the vein returned to normal. However, I am know experiencing shortness of breath. I am asthmatic but I am concerned this could be something else. What do you advise? Please feel free to reply via my email address at YYYY@YYYY . Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you seem to have developed pulmonary embolism apparently caused by the dislodged clot from the clogged vein of your right leg. I advise you to go to the emergency department of your nearby hospital immediately for further evaluation and urgent treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
