What Causes Swollen Tongue And Bumps At Throat?

I have swollen tongue with whiteness on middle of it and small balls at the throat side. A few days ago, at middle of night it has fallen on right side of my mouth and took a big effort to bring it in the centre. It effecting my speech, swelling and eyes. I also feel dryness & pain in my ears. Any solution?? Need your help to diagnose. Kind Regards, RAvi

Hello

Welcome in HCM.

I understand your concern and your clinical history clearly indicates that you are having acute pharyngitis with glossitis.

You are now suffering from acute throat infection and at the same time your tongue is also inflamed at posterior part and giving you this wired feeling.

Now due to inflammation in throat and oral cavity nasal passage of air gets obstructed and you are breathing partially by mouth also, these all factors are responsible for dryness in mouth and throat.

You are advised to consult your doctor for examination and necessary investigations and also to rule out systemic disease like diabetes. you may take following for relief-

1- Warm saline gargling and steam inhalation.

2- Tab Paracetamol.

3- Antacid with PPI

4- Adequate fluid orally.

5- Antibiotic preferably broad spectrum.
