What Causes Swollen Neck Along With Lumps And Strep Throat?
Hi, question about the following sxs and possibilities of various dx. Sudden onset of severe pain (10 on scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst) in neck area; neck looks swollen and looks to have two lumps on side of neck/ swelling. Pain is described as outside or muscle pain vs pain from a strep throat. No fever nor any other cold type sxs. Hx of thyroid and kidney problems. Was taken to ER. CT scan done and resulted normal results. D/c from ER and advised to see ENT. Any advice? Thank you.

Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and CT scan to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) along with anti allergic and anti inflammatory . Doctor may recommend tonsilectomy in case of severe tonsillitis refer you to gastroenterologist if the problem will be related to acid reflux . For now do warm saline gargles and avoid spicy and heavy food .
