What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes?

on Monday I went to urgent care due to enlarging glands with white bumps on the back of my throat I had thought maybe I was having strept throat fortunately I wasn t having the temps and they ran the test it was negative the PA gave me a prescription for methylprednisolone and a prescription for naproxem . I ended up in the emergency room on 03/28 with my mouth completely swollen and ended up with an MRI because I couldn t open up my mouth so is this methylprednisolone really working on my mouth because it seems like the swelling goes up and go back down

General & Family Physician 's  Response
swelling of glands could be due to various reasons virus bacteria and in your case could be bacterial infection and sounds like it resulted in rapid spread of infection to a condition called (Ludwig's Angina) as it was not covered immediately with antibiotics.
an appropriate course of antibiotics anti inflammatory medication will help. hope you feel better soon.
