Hi
Lymph node enlargement in armpit which is painful is due to infection which is drained from the neighbouring area. Lymph nodes in normal condition is not palpable. It is palpable only in condition where some kind of infection or deposits are there. It is better to have a course of antibiotics and antiinflammatory. If it persists, then aspiration cytology or biopsy may be taken.
