Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swollen Lymph Node In The Armpit Despite Having Diverticulitis?
I am in my first episode of diverticulitis. I completed 14 days of cipro and flagyl one week ago. I am still experiencing discomfort in the left abdomen. I have a substantially enlarged lymph node in the left armpit. Are these things to be concerned about. I have a followup with my primary physician tomorrow.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The enlarged lymph node in your armpit can not be related to your diverticulitis. It might be due to some lesion in your chest, hands, back or axillae (infection of hair root, side-effect of shaving axillary hairs).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
