I have a very painful swollen area long my left inner thigh. It is very red and seems to be hard lumps along the swollen area. The pain has been shooting up my left hip when I move around. It just came on all of the sudden. Id been fighting a painful broken tooth, when the tooth quit hurting the swelling showed up. I m a 33 f in fairly good health.

Hello,

I need to know if you have experienced any fever with it, when you observed this swelling? Is it expanding with time or not? Does it hurt on touching? Do you have any discharge from this swelling?

This looks like an infected skin area and it should be evaluated physically. The doctor can make an accurate diagnosis and prognosis after examining you. I suggest you to get appointment as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sameen Bin Naeem, General & Family Physician
