What Causes Swelling On The Knees And Tingling Sensation In The Arms?

One knee started swelling about 3 weeks ago, which I had never experienced, but I m 55. So, I didn t think it odd. Then, I started getting swelling in one elbow. It went away within 48 hours about a week later. Last week, my fingers and hands have been swelling and now my arms are tingling and my TMJ is coming back (it s been a year since I had a flare up).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Joint swelling at multiple sites indicate underlying systemic process of arthritis (rheumatoid or something else).

I suggest a systemic work up of blood with RA factor, ESR and other radiology to evaluate joint conditions and further management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
