What Causes Swelling On Right Side Of Face Along With Sore Gums?

Yesterday I woke up with a really sore gum, and though out the day my face started to get swallow. Today I have woken up with a really sore gum, and on the right side of my face its swallon my lip, cheek and nose. I have had this happen before twice. I have been to a doctor last time it happened and they said it could be a allergic reaction but I still don't know what it is. So what can I do?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern and being your physician, I will answer all of your medical concerns. Swelling on right side of face along with sore gums is because of allergic reaction and it could be due to facial space infection which is spreading through planes and causing swelling there. It could be angioedema. I would advise you to visit dentist. Go for scaling of oral cavity and get yourself examined. Take antihistamine medications. Get it checked if any cavity in oral cavity causing formation of pus and its spread. Avoid allergens.

Take Care,
Dr. PANKAJ
