What Causes Swelling Near C-section Line On One Side?

I had my second C-section about eight weeks ago. My scar is just as beautiful as the first C-section I had, however this time I am swollen above my C-section line on only one side. When should this swelling subsided? If it doesn t go away is there something surgically I can do to remove it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
Thank you for your query.
I understand your concern.
Keloid( a thickened scar) is excessive growth of scar tissue, making it thicker . It is mostly accompanied by itching.
It can be treated by
- Intralesional steroid injections.
- Surgical removal( recurrence is possible )
- Laser therapy.(Costly , needs multiple sittings , but has better results ( IT flattens the scar & makes it less red in colour )
Thanks.
