Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Doctor I am a 72yo overweight male who has swollen feet, calves and thighs for a couple of weeks. I do not have diabetes general health is good. No exercise because of low back surgery 4 years ago. Scheduled for a temp/test/trial external spinal stimulator installation Wednesday. Is the new symptom (swollen extremities) of immediate or major concern? Any feedback will be appreciated. Chas
Welcome at HCM I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.... Do u have hypertension? Any heart problem? Is swelling only on legs or whole body? How is urine output? Any meds u are taking? In my opinion you should see ur doctor so that any heart , kidney, liver pathology can be excluded since leg swelling mostly occur due to pathology in these organs... U need to be assessed properly by your doctor to rule out these organic causes.... Hope your query is adequately addressed Regards Dr Saad Sultan
