Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have throat infection and the infection is only leading to inflammation of the circumvallate papilla.
The most common cause of throat infection is bacterial infection caused by Streptococcus bacteria [strep throat].
It can also be due to viral infection [ MONO].

To confirm the cause you can undergo a rapid strep test in which the doctor will take a swab from the throat and test it for bacteria..
In case if it comes negative you can get tested for virus..

For bacterial infection you can take Azithromycin 500 mg once a day, Ibuprofen 400 mg thrice a day for 5 days.
Chew a vitamin C pellet daily.
Do warm saline gargles.
Avoid spicy food..

If there is viral infection it is commonly associated with secondary bacterial infection and the same treatment can be taken..

As the infection will subside the inflammation of the papilla will also resolve.,

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
