What Causes Swelling In The Left Ankle While Suffering From Peripheral Neuropathy?

Left ankle swelling have peripheral neuropathy not from diabetes from chicken pox at 28. Leg swelling left only. Currently put on Norvasc but was swelling a little before starting drug. Have osteoarthritis. If it was drug related would it not be both ankles. My left side is weaker than right due to disease. Had left breast mastectomy at 28 no chemo. No lymph nodes taken. I take levothyroxine for thyroid blood test ok. Elevating helps a little. Try to walk regularly but hard to do with equilibrium issue from disease. Have good and bad days. Hot days make it worse. Any suggestions why left leg only.
