Hi

Losartan use is generally not associated with pain and swelling of the joints so very likely the symptoms your husband is experiencing are not related to its use.

One of the medications generally used with Losartan or separately is Hydrochlorothyazide. This is a diuretic that is used in hypertension and heart problems and may cause gout or cause flares of it and may be a possible cause your husband is having the symptoms if he is using it.

Otherwise if your husband is not using Hydrochlorothyazide then other causes for the swelling and pain of the hand should be considered and having a proper visit and examination is needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
