What Causes Swelling In The Eyelids?

Hi, I m having a problem with my right eye.I woke up yesterday morning and felt there was something in my eye. I thought it was an in-turned eye lash. I couldn t see any problem but the irritation persisted through the day. I noticed it seemed as if I was catching a cold because I was constantly blowing my nose and my nose was always runny even though the day before, and now the day after, there is little or no sign of a cold. My eyelid seems swollen or puffy and last night the were small pus balls that came from my eye, however nothing like that today. The irritation continues and my eye is red/pink but that may be because I find my self rubbing it hoping something will help. The irritation seems to be limited to the outside corner as if something is stuck there but I can t see anything. Last night Just before the pus balls I thought I noticed small liquid filled swollen sacs in each corner but I m not sure if they were actually what I thought they were, although it was very soon after I pressed on one of them that the pus balls formed om my lashes. Any ideas? Do I need to see an eye doctor? The irritation is still very noticeable but I don t know how long I should put up with it before I should be concerned. I guess my one question is this...I go to the inconvenience of typing out a detailed account of what my problem i, I answer your questions and wait for the reply, AND AFTER ALL THAT YOU MENTION THAT IT S GOING TO COST ME TO GET THE ANSWER. SO MY QUESTION TO YOU IS ... WTF?

Hello,

If it separated from the route, then it can be removed treating as the foreign body can be washed with fresh water and clean with a sterile swab. You are suffering from flue which is viral and self-limiting can apply ciprofloxacin eye drop. Three percent eight hourly. Apply Neosporin eye ointment at bedtime can be having blepharitis, can be having folliculitis for which epilation of eyelash required. It can be angular conjunctivitis or beginning of pterygium. If approaching towards cornea, then can be followed up till it reaches papillary area when it can obstruct vision, then it can be resected a fine lamellar resection. You can take levocetrizine in the morning for ten days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
