What Causes Swelling In The Ear Lobe With Hardness And Numbness?

My left earlobe is swollen, hard and numb for 2 days now. The area just behind /underneath was tender a day or two before the lobe got swollen. Now that area is swollen too but not tender. I am not in pain but worried because antihistamines have not helped. That earlobe - I scratch a lot from allergy to earrings. I could have caused it from dirty fingers but this had never happened before in all the ears I scratched it. HELP! I m so worried.

Hi.
The swelling in the ear lobe as you have mentioned looks to be an infected granuloma.
A course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines along with local application of spirit or liquid povidone iodine will help to resolve the lesion.
