What Causes Swelling In The Clitoris Post Intercourse?

I had sex with my bf last night & right after we finished I noticed my clitoris was veryyy swollen & enlarged. This never happened to me before. My bf told me to put ice on it while I go to sleep but when I got up this morning it was the same. It s very uncomfortable when I walk or sit down. It s swollen to the point where my vaginal lips can t even close because of how big it s gotten. What caused this and what can I do to treat it to go back to normal. I m definitely going to the doctor tomorrow tho

Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. It is possible that rough intercourse may have given rise to the clitoral swelling. Local inspection is needed to clarify. Application of ice can help with superficial edema. However, infections, injuries are other possibilities that have to be checked out. Avoid further intercourse until you are healed well. Avoid douches and strong soap solutions to clean the area. Please see a specialist for further management. Hope this helps.
