What Causes Swelling In The Cheeks While On Oxygen Tank?

If you are on oxygen, through the nose, can that make your face swell up - the cheeks swell? My father just started on an oxygen tank and laid down for nap - he woke up and his cheeks are puffy? Could it be a result of Oxygen. He recently started it 1-2 days ago.
