What Causes Swelling In The Ankles By The End Of Every Day?
I have noticed that by the end of the day my ankles are quite swollen.I mostly sit at a desk, but I also get up and move around during the day as well. I don t just stand on my feet for long periods of time. Also I try to drink at least one bottle of water while at work. It doesn t hurt per se, I was just alarmed when I saw that my ankles were very swollen at the end of the work day.
Ankle swelling at the end of the day may be due to venous insufficiency of the lower limbs. Other causes are an incipient heart failure, kidney or hepatic causes leading to fluid retention. A simple test like HB%, urinalysis will give some clue. Doppler study of venous system, both lower limbs may be undertaken.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
