Hello, I m a 47 yr old woman, 5 2 and 98 lbs. About a month ago, my doctor put me on Abilify (for severe depression). A week earlier, I had Restylane Silk injections in my lower smile lines, but not directly in my lips. The day after I started Ability, I woke up and my whole lower jaw was swollen, and I had a rash that traveled from my chin ups the side of my face and ringed my eyes. My lips became unbearably chapped and flakey and I developed angular cheilitis. The inside of my gums had bright red rings around them. My dermatologist said unless some of the alcohol wipes he used had somehow been compromised, it couldn t be the Restylane. My internist thought allergy to Abilify, took me off it, and put me on a 6 day course of Prednisone. I finished the steroids this past Friday, and that helped significantly with the swelling, and reduced the dry lips. But, I woke up on Sunday and I felt they were starting to get worse again. Today, they re terrible. My doctor has put me on another round of steroids. If it is the Restylane, am I doomed to this condition for the next 4-6 months? I know I can t stay on steroids that long. I m anxious to hear another opinion. I d send photos, but I can t figure out how to. Thank you
