Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of swelling and tenderness around an injection site which seems to be due to thrombophlebitis i.e infection of vein and insertion injury. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Give proper rest to child.

- Elevate limb and apply ice on it.

- Give proper course of painkiller i.e Ibuprofen.

If swelling and pain does not improve and there are symptoms of pus and fever then you should consult pediatrician immediately and get it examined an start treatment accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
