A few days ago my lips swelled a little and very tiny ulcers/blisters formed on my bottom lip w. My top lip stung for a few days. The blisters healed over but my entire bottom lip is now very dry, chapped and is raw with some tiny white bumps all over it. I can t tell if this isms cabbing it not. It is slightly healing now. what is this and how can I speed recovery? I have no history of herpes and a small history of contact dermatitis with adhesives. Lips are still swollen and sting a little after 5 days.
Understanding your concern. A mild swelling of lips with associated discomfort and pain can be associated with herpes infection. You should keep the affected area clean and dry , give cold compresses to the lip . Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the blisters twice a day. Take some oral antihistamine like benadryl to relieve the swelling. You can take some oral painkiller like paracetamol for the pain. You should drink plenty of fluids. Avoid direct sunlight. If the infection is very severe, you might need a course of oral antivirals. So consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Harry Maheshwari
