My dad has a history of GERD, but for the past two years, he has had difficulty swallowing things like white meat. He has finally agreed to have an endoscopy, but the place is very busy, and he won t have it done until April now. He does not have any symptoms of weight loss, or progression to difficulty with liquids, but I am still very concerned. What is the likelihood of having dysphagia simply from scarring? And if this were cancer, would a couple of months delay in the diagnosis make any difference in the prognosis? Thank you.
