What Causes Sulphuric Burping And Stomach Pain With History Of Acid Reflux?

I have a 7 year old who keeps having sulphuric burps and gas (rotten egg) and his stomach hurts from time to time (much more than any child s should) he is overweight, but not extremely. He has been tired a lot lately but we have been busy a lot too. He had acid reflux when he was a baby and was on medicine until he was 2. Could he still have acid reflux or should I have him checked out?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think that this sulfuric burping and abdominal pain is related to reflux. I think this is possibly related to parasitosis. He should get checked for parasites in feces.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
